Traveling Registered Dental Hygienist - Nursing Home Care

Position Registered Dental Hygienist providing on‑site hygiene services in facilities served by working with the DDS, clinical coordinator, and facility staff. The role requires coordination with nursing home staff to ensure patients’ and facilities’ needs are met. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Review patient lists prior to visit and ensure all supplies/equipment are available. Arrive on time, check in with dental contact, and review list of patients to be seen. Transport, set‑up and take down equipment and supplies in the designated workspace. Coordinate transport of patients and charts to and from the treatment room; seek assistance from clinical support manager if needed. Perform required care: X‑rays, cleaning, dentures, sealants, oral health assessment, and report findings to dentist following ADA and company standards. Explain procedures to patients and follow up with facility staff on recommendations. Enter chart notes for treatment provided into Salesforce in real time. Follow OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations during treatment and ensure disposables are handled correctly. Check out with dental contact at facility, including review of chart notes; leave printed copies of chart notes with facility for patient charts. Work with clinical support manager to schedule and follow up on patient care and treatment. Maintain dental equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance. Inventory supplies and order as needed. Follow regulated OSHA guidelines in handling and sterilization of instruments. Utilize personal vehicle for equipment/supply transport and traveling to scheduled facility visits. Be available via cell phone during the workday. Willingly expense purchases for office needs, unforeseen supply purchases, and other reimbursable business‑related expenses. Location The position covers the home market, which includes driving 20 minutes to 2.5 hours. You are paid for all drive time over 30 minutes each way, and mileage reimbursement is paid for all miles driven. Requirements Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing and 5 years’ experience. Valid Driver’s License with no moving violations in the last 5 years. Must have own reliable transportation and be able to push/pull +/- 200 lbs. (e.g., patients in wheelchair). Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in and out of your vehicle and roll it in and out of home/facilities. High School Diploma or equivalent. Other Qualifications Customer Service Skills: work with nursing home staff to meet dental needs. Computer Skills: log chart notes at the time of visit. Organization: keep RDH supplies and dentures organized; maintain daily schedule and updates. Multi‑Tasker: prioritize and address multiple demands concurrently.
