Fleet Mechanic III

Job Overview Fleet Mechanic III - Irving, TX Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans and forklifts. Disassembles and overhauls motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and electrical systems. Complete all necessary documents, including vehicle records. Manage ordering and inventory of parts. Act as mentor to Class I & II mechanics. Shift and Schedule Monday through Friday 2:00pm until 10:30pm or finished Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed About You We are looking for a self‑motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment. You have great communication skills. You are a problem solver with technical aptitude and a willingness to keep learning. Total Rewards Pay starting at $33.76 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $35.58 per hour in the quarter after their 6 month anniversary. Requirements High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred. 1 year or more of mechanic experience on a fleet. Must be able to work on all types of vehicles (diesel trucks, electric and propane forklift, etc...). Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Able to supply your own set of tools to perform the job. Willing and able to acquire the necessary certifications and licenses needed for the position within the first year of employment, including ASE Heavy and Medium duty certification, DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A), DOT brake and annual inspection certification, and A/C certification.
