Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive DesignationJOB OBJECTIVE: To perform a variety of advanced journey level skilled/technical maintenance and major repair services on diesel and gasoline engines, components, electrical systems, and transmissions of City vehicles and heavy equipment; provides mechanical assistance to other employees; performs diagnostic testing.This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.Essential FunctionsFor a complete list of essential job functions please click HERE.Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThese knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school or vocational-technical course in automotive mechanics and two (2) years experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance, malfunction diagnosis, and repair. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
