MEP Construction Superintendent

MEP Construction Superintendent Location: New York City, New York and New Jersey, United States Travel: Yes, sites across NYC, Brooklyn, Northern New Jersey and Southern Connecticut. Role Responsibilities Establish site safety and office setup with logistics, material flow, safety requirements, and emergency plans. Review project schedule and assist the Project Manager in maintaining schedule (MS Project format). Create Project Team & Home Page on Procore and compile a project directory of all field personnel and stakeholders. Issue subcontractor welcome letters, collect insurance, and communicate safety requirements. Review trade scope sheets/proposals to ensure understanding of each subcontractor’s scope. Generate and track RFIs based on drawings, scope, and site review; coordinate design team to resolve open RFI issues. Prepare and manage a submittal log, issue it to subcontractors, and coordinate submittal reviews via Procore. Print and post required OSHA/Safety signage and permits on the permit board. Perform site safety orientations, enforce weekly toolbox talks and daily huddles; generate meeting agendas and take minutes. Mark up MEP plans daily, take progress photos, issue weekly progress reports to client, and provide two‑week look‑aheads. Manage labor staff and record timesheets. Create change events (CEs) and obtain subcontractor pricing when required. Coordinate subcontractor meetings and record meeting minutes. Prepare client meeting minutes for Project Manager review, available in Procore. Generate close‑out and permit matrix. Organize site clean‑off and removal of all material. Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; OR equivalent years of experience. Experience 4–7 years of construction management experience – MEP and Interiors. Working knowledge of multiple construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdictions, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings, and associated documentation. Proficiency with MS Project and MS Project Suite, as well as PlanGrid/Procore. Experience working on cross‑functional teams across different offices. Specific Skills Ability to work in a deadline‑driven environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills and adaptability in communications. Capability to work both independently and as part of a team while managing multiple projects.
