Regulatory Compliance Manager

Annual Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 * Please Note: The salary/salary range listed in this job description is a base salary only and does not include years-of-service adjustments. Manage the Self-Insurance Unit with the goal of supervising, training and assisting team members in regulating the Self-Insurance Program. Oversee responses to fiscal notes and proposed legislation. Oversee the financial solvency of prospective and current self-insured employers and group trusts by reviewing loss runs, income statements, balance sheets, actuarial opinions, etc. Ensure the overall compliance of self-insured employers and group trusts under the Workers’ Compensation Law and Rules Governing Self-Insurance 8 CSR 50-3.010 with respect to, but not limited to, claims handling, posting security, ongoing reporting and reserving requirements, rate setting and excess policy compliance. Provide input and assistance in auditing of self-insured employers and group trusts, preparation of reports and resolution of consumer complaints and inquiries. Participate in the implementation or interpretation of current and/or new laws and regulations, and contribute to improving the business processes, practices, and claims administration services. Play a pivotal role in the modernization initiative by explaining the regulatory requirements, industry best practices, procedures and current business and technical processes with a view to achieving efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and five or more years of relevant experience, including professional or administrative management experience OR nine years of relevant experience Lack of post‑secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant. Desired Attributes: Three years of supervisory and/or management experience. Specialized degree in business or public administration, insurance, risk management, accounting, finance or closely related areas. Experience in areas such as insurance, regulation, solvency, claims handling, underwriting and auditing, investigations or management of insurance entities. One or more of the following property casualty insurance designations: Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC); Certified Risk Manager (CRM); Associates in Risk Management (ARM); Associates in General Insurance (AINS); or Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Experience reviewing loss runs, income statements, balance sheets and actuarial opinions. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word and Excel, Tableau or other data analytics tools and modern case management systems.
