About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS; TNCC preferred Must-Have: Candidates must have completed 2-3 travel assignments. Candidates must have 2-3 years of ER experience. Description: The unit consists of 27 beds with 50 registered nurses and 25 medics. On the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2-3 medics. The day shift increases by 4-5 nurses at 11 AM and by 1-2 nurses at 3 PM. On the night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2-3 medics. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4-6 patients per nurse. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. The ideal candidate will have experience in high acuity emergency rooms, fast-paced settings, and managing high patient volumes. Candidates with experience of patient ratios of 5:1 are preferred. Typical procedures performed include RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, care of psych patients, and transfers to other facilities. The best personality fit is relaxed, easy-going, friendly, team-oriented, and respectful. Floating areas are not applicable. The dress code consists of navy blue or white scrubs. Weekend shifts consist of four shifts in a four-week scheduling period, either Friday or Saturday for nights, or Saturday or Sunday for days.
