Residential Director

Job Description JOB TITLE: Residential Director QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree in human services field from an accredited college or university and 5 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or related disabilities, three years in a program management capacity with emphasis in service development, management, personnel supervision, service planning and program evaluation. CRCF Administrator's license is strongly desired. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Considerable knowledge regarding intellectual disabilities, autism, head and spinal cord injuries, and related disabilities. Knowledge of employee training practices, public speaking/teaching techniques, public relations, strong oral, written and communication skills. Extensive knowledge of the agency's total service delivery system, to include licensing regulations, health and safety standards, funding requirements, and outcome-based measurement systems. Ability to plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate programs, considerable knowledge of state and federal mandates associated with agency compliance regulations. Direct Supervisor Executive Director Job Duties Responsible for the development, administration, and operation of residential facilities. Meets with the management team on a regular basis to foster communication, share information and identify program needs. Conducts routine monitorship of all residential facilities to ensure compliance with required Federal, State and Local standards and regulations and to ensure quality assurance. Operates within the approved budget makes reductions when necessary. Provides training to residential program staff to meet identified needs or upon request. Responsible for hiring and training competent residential staff, while ensuring an adequate staffing pool is available. Conducts regularly scheduled, comprehensive, monthly staff meetings. Ensures all residential programs are adequately staffed. Establishes a consistent staffing schedule for all residential programs. Routinely evaluates staffing patterns to insure safe staffing ratios. Reduces or increases staff hours or positions with the approval of the Executive Director. Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of assigned staff. Meets with staff formally or informally on a regular basis. Reviews paperwork for quality control. Advises the Executive Director relative to the development and/or revision of policies and procedures that are pertinent to residential services. Reviews and analyzes budgets and other financial reports from a programmatic standpoint to insure appropriate expenditure of funds. Makes recommendations relative to budget changes, increases/decreases to meet program needs. Authorizes purchases of major equipment and supplies for the residential program. Ensures the timely filling of bed vacancies to prevent loss of funding and involves all affected programs in the decision-making process. Assists with the timely reporting of Critical Incidents; Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation allegations; and Death. Evaluates placements to assure the individual is receiving adequate support in a healthy and safe environment. Represents the agency in the community through community/civic efforts, presentations, and involvement. Willingness to go beyond assigned areas, when necessary, to insure for the health and safety of persons served, staff and the community. In the absence of the Executive Director and Day Program Director, assumes responsibility for the administration of the Agency when assigned. Performs all other duties as related to this position. Physical and Visual Requirements Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, light work, grasping, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. May be subject to both indoor-outdoor environments and to temperature extremes of hot and cold for short periods of time. Hours The hours for this position typically operate within a forty-hour workweek, Monday through Friday; however, due to the nature of the position the daily schedule may be adjusted to accommodate the needs of the agency and staff. #J-18808-Ljbffr Colleton County Board of Disabilities
