The position involves caring for neonates, infants, and adults. Candidates must have experience in vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and managing multiple births. Knowledge of postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension is essential. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2. The unit has 16 delivery beds with an average daily census of 15. Experience with electronic health records is required. The successful candidate should have strong clinical skills and the ability to manage high-risk deliveries. Administration of medications and monitoring of patients during labor are critical responsibilities. The nurse will also provide lactation support and assist with breastfeeding. Patients will be triaged in accordance with hospital policies. Additional responsibilities may include maintaining IVs and monitoring vital signs. The role may require floating within the facility as needed. Call requirements include being on call for two shifts every six weeks. Travelers are expected to work at least one major holiday during their assignment. We offer a supportive environment with interdisciplinary team involvement.
