Security Officers work as a team, patrolling the company's properties via vehicle and foot and/or ensuring security at a series of fixed locations in accordance with federal, state, and local laws as well as company regulations.Responsibilities:Maintain proficiency/awareness of static guard post dutiesPlan and conduct advanced security training for all security officersConduct advanced research and analysis in support of SpaceX security missionsConduct and review risk assessments of critical SpaceX facilitiesRespond to emergency situations and provide on-scene leadership to othersPlan and coordinate domestic flight hardware transportation operationsLearn advanced skillsets including but not limited to: EMT, investigations, surveillance, VIP escort, security hardwareFunction as liaison with law enforcement, community leaders and key stakeholders in space industryBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency certificate5+ years of experience in the military, law enforcement, overseas security contracting, or advanced corporate security realm1+ year of executive protection, mobile asset protection, or emergency response team experiencePreferred Skills and Experience:Bachelor's or advanced degreeMilitary deployment and/or counterinsurgency experienceHistory of critical incident handling experienceCombat Medic, EMT-B, or Paramedic related experienceAdvanced medical emergency training (TCCC/TECC/Combat Lifesaver)Documented small unit leadership experienceImpeccable character/integrityExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to de-escalate disputes and/or conflict(s)Experience instructing security tactics/operations/proceduresComputer based proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookExtensive team-oriented experienceAn intense interest in protecting the future of spaceflightForeign language proficiencyAdditional Requirements:Ability to work one of the following shifts:Day shift: (6AM - 6PM)Night shift: (6PM - 6AM)Availability to work any schedule needed, to include: overtime, nights, weekends and rotatingPosition is subject to pre-employment enhanced screening, including a background check, psychological test, bi-annual physical fitness test, and a drug and alcohol testAble to wear approximately 20-30lbs of gear throughout a 12-hour shift; ability to lift or carry 40-50lbs of equipment or gear unassistedAbility and willingness to occasionally stand in a static position for extended periods and effectively execute duties in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rainWillingness to travel up to 15% of time in support of SpaceX Security requirements should the need ariseValid driver's licensePossess or be eligible for a valid state security officer license and Level III Commissioned Security Officer licenseAbility to pass Air Force and NASA background checks for installation access as directedEligible for a US Government security clearance.
