Administrator, Education Grants & Scholarships

The Administrator works directly with students and parents to determine paths to success. You will be responsible for building rapport with scholars and their families in order to coordinate scholarships and awards. The Administrator is responsible for processing documentation for all eligible students who have demonstrated financial need and are in good academic standing. You will also be responsible for participating in various outreach and awareness programs to ensure the continued enrollment of new scholars. The Administrator will report directly to the Senior Vice President. Duties and responsibilities Build a rapport with scholars and families to maintain standards of integrity and support. Engage in daily calls to grantees/grantee families and enrolled students to determine and document the need for scholarship assistance. Gather detailed documentation, write, and submit scholarship grant proposals to the Scholarship and Enrollment Leadership for review. Coordinate the distribution of checks to approved recipients. Enroll eligible families in the grant management system and set scheduled follow-up with families. Assist in the maintenance of the grant management system to ensure data quality is complete/accurate. Provide programmatic support to the Scholarship and Enrollment Leadership and report weekly on progress toward the defined program goals and objectives. Attend periodic conferences and events to assist the Programs team in identifying new enrollees. Communicate and coordinate with new families and students at events and engagements. Speak at periodic events and Interviews as a representative of Fallen Patriots and of the Gold Star community. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and two years of relevant work experience. Working knowledge of military and veteran issues through professional or personal experience (e.g. Gold Star family member). High energy level, self-motivated, positive, outgoing, personable and able to relate well with diverse populations; exceptional interpersonal skills with all ages required. High level of emotional awareness in order to communicate with families experiencing loss. Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment. Honors the importance of discretion and confidentiality. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through and planning abilities; must be able to manage deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office/ Google Suite (or equivalent). Pre-employment screening, including a background check, is required.
