Pharmacy Courier

Overview of the Position Responsible for but not limited to transportation of patient medications and supplies to physician’s office, medical practice, patient’s residence, pharmacy, or other designated delivery locations. When not making deliveries, employee will handle customer service, including bagging filled prescriptions into the pharmacy call system, and checking out patients picking up prescriptions inside the pharmacy and at the drive‑thru. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED required 1–2 years of Pharmacy, medical office, or hospital experience preferred Previous delivery experience preferred Required Skills / Abilities Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and posted schedules Knowledge and/or ability to learn about occupational hazards and safety precautions Carry out duties with minimal daily supervision Work in a high‑pressure environment Strong active listening skills and attention to detail Friendly attitude, adaptable to change Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and other employees Flexible with changing priorities, work volume, procedures, and variety of tasks Communicate effectively orally and in writing Handle various tasks simultaneously while working efficiently and independently Maintain a clean driving record Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities Essential Job Functions Place and receive delivery orders over the phone Collect payments for prescriptions as needed Ensure delivery address and contents match the delivery manifest Verify patient name and date of birth with patient or designated agent for each delivery or inside‑pharmacy transaction Request signatures when delivering prescriptions or checking out patients inside the pharmacy; complete and return delivery logs in a timely manner Obtain a government‑issued photo identification for patients receiving a controlled substance and document as required by law, for both deliveries and interior check‑outs Abide by all state and local driving regulations as described by the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Transportation Assist with other tasks as assigned Physical Requirements Must possess the ability to communicate in the dominant language of the geographic region. Must be able to lift 30 pounds; vision and hearing corrected to within normal limits is required. Must have manual dexterity to key in data; utilize a computer, grip, hold, tear, cut, sort, and reach. #J-18808-Ljbffr
