Description
American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring NBSTSA certification and 3 years of experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a Level II Trauma Surgical Services department
- 130 staffed beds
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- 8 call shifts required per month
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Trauma, ortho, and neuro case experience preferred
- Scrubs of any color accepted
Requirements
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience required
- 1 year of travel experience required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- License required if applicable
- Valid CA state license with Nursys verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks, if applicable
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year
Additional Information
- Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, and more
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Participate in Universal Protocol time-out procedures
- Handle specimen collection and labeling according to protocol
- Practice laser, radiation, and sharps safety standards
- Assist with case cart preparation and instrumentation needs
- Returning staff/travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year before returning
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per contract
- Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate
- Compliance labs must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
- Free parking available in unrestricted lot spaces
