Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse at a rural hospital in Sweetwater, Texas. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive care across the full spectrum of obstetric services, including antepartum, labor, postpartum, and newborn nursery care.

The facility supports approximately 30-40 deliveries per month, providing a consistent yet manageable patient volume. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing various stages of maternal and infant care, contributing to positive patient outcomes in a close-knit community setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to antepartum, laboring, postpartum, and newborn nursery patients.
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart tracings, implementing appropriate interventions as needed.
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum procedures.
• Administer medications, perform assessments, and document patient care accurately.
• Educate patients and families on maternal and infant care, including breastfeeding and newborn safety.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Prior experience in Labor & Delivery nursing, including comprehensive care for antepartum, labor, postpartum, and nursery patients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an OB Circulator.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Intermediate Fetal Monitoring.
• Strong clinical skills in antepartum, labor, postpartum, and newborn nursery care.
• Ability to respond effectively to obstetric emergencies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
