Whether you want to lead more, innovate more, learn more or create more, you can find your more with Mohawk.Primary Objective: Provides mechanical and electrical support to ensure efficiency and quality in laminate flooring production.Major Function:Monitors and reacts in a timely manner to routine demand maintenance requirementsParticipates in routine Preventive/Predictable MaintenanceTroubleshoots equipment stoppages and reacts accordinglyUtilizes various mechanical and electrical test equipmentHelp maintain proper spare part inventory accuracy by utilizing best practices when removing or replacing partsParticipate in spare part cycle counts when necessaryAssists with manufacturing during product change-overPlans, assists, documents, and implements process improvement techniques and devicesAttend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervisionFollow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policiesPerform general housekeeping duties as necessaryPerform other tasks assigned by managementType of Experience:Associate degree in applied technology in industrial/manufacturing or equivalent experienceLift Truck Certification preferredSuccessful completion of all required on the job trainingSuccessful completion of all required health and environmental safety trainingFormal training and practical experience in an industrial setting as a Production Technician3+ years practical hands-on experience in an industrial settingExperience with high pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated material handling utilizing 480vac VFD's, and PLC control logic troubleshootingExperience troubleshooting complex problems using schematics and computer resourcesCompetencies:Operate in a team-based environmentBasic math skillsWork with minimal supervision on various optimization projects from conception to completionProduce technical reports and update drawingsLight machining and welding skillsLight fabrication skillsInterpret and produce mechanical and electrical drawings and schematicsBasic computer skillsMechanical aptitude and/or machine knowledgeProblem solving skillsUtilizing machining, electrical, and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasksPhysical Requirements & Job Information:May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of timeMust be able to lift-up to 50 pounds frequentlyWorking around moving equipment and in an industrial environmentWorking in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperaturesMohawk Industries is a leading global flooring manufacturer that creates products to enhance residential and commercial spaces around the world.
