Registered NurseThe position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in the Intensive Care Unit. The job requires a minimum of one year of experience, with two years preferred. First-time travelers are accepted for this role. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. The clinician may float within the unit float rotation to acute care when needed, with a patient ratio of 1:4. Local candidates who live within the specified radius are not accepted. The role requires interpretation of arterial blood gases and management of dysrhythmias. The nurse will be responsible for managing ventilated patients and administering medications safely. Skills required include IV initiation and maintenance, care of patients with chronic and acute renal failure, and infection prevention. Additional skills include blood product administration, chest tube insertion and removal assistance, and monitoring during procedural sedation. The position involves working with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy and pharmacy.
