Safety Manager - Heavy Civil

Summary:

Railroad Construction Company, Inc. (RCC), a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company, is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Supervisor to support a major bridge rehabilitation project in New London, CT. This night shift position will oversee the implementation and execution of the Project Safety, Health & Environmental Program while partnering with project leadership to promote a strong safety culture across all operations.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; conduct safety training, audits, and inspections; investigate incidents; and lead safety initiatives to maintain a safe and healthy work environment on a complex heavy civil construction project.

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of safety management experience in heavy construction
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards and federal, state, and local regulations
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Effective leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to identify hazards, develop corrective actions, and communicate effectively
• Ability to work overnight shift and weekends as needed
