Manager, Guide Dog Training Team

Job Details: Level: Management | Job Location: Dogs Inc Main Campus - Palmetto, FL 34221 | Job Shift: Day | Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services Dogs Inc seeks a seasoned Certified Guide Dog Instructor to join our team in a manager capacity. The Training Team Manager serves as liaison between remaining Guide Dog Instructors/Apprentices and the Director of Training. These managers supervise team members and drive the development and growth of our training department. Responsibilities Training team managers oversee 1-2 guide dog training teams of 3-4 instructors per team, including training and three‑week on‑campus client training. They maintain visibility, support, and a culture of accountability and productivity. Maintain high expectations in training world‑class guide dogs and client instruction. Stay up to date on behavioral, training, and medical information for each dog in your team(s). Provide daily/weekly schedules for each team and ensure adherence to the training curriculum. Ensure training records are kept current by all team members. Frequently work the dogs in training for each of your teams. Occasionally assist in the evaluation of puppies in training. Serve as core team member in all aspects of three‑week on‑campus client training classes. Maintain clear and constant communication with the Director of Training. Travel as necessary for follow‑ups, home training, or admissions interviews. Work nights, weekends, and holidays during class training when applicable. Approve timesheets and time off for all members of your teams. Provide employee performance appraisals when needed. Assist the Director of Training with protocol updates. Occasionally support marketing needs. Qualifications Certification as a Guide Dog Instructor from an IGDF accredited Guide Dog school (required). 5+ years of experience as a certified Guide Dog Instructor (required). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Exceptional writing, communication, and public‑speaking skills. Strong computer skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
