Install and dismantle equipment, welding, pipe fitting, and other tasks as required. General mechanics, pneumatics and power transmission equipment repairs related to wire and cable equipment; operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses and other machine shop equipment without direction. Perform preventive maintenance procedures, 5S activities and participate in continuous improvement events. Maintain work area in a safe and orderly condition at all times. Ensure all products meet requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems. Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines. Work overtime or on different schedules as required and on short notice. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Have all necessary mechanics’ tools. Education High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English. Experience Some manufacturing experience preferred or demonstrated mechanical ability in a manufacturing environment preferred. Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner. Skills & Attributes Excel in quality workmanship and sustain a professional demeanor. Work independently according to verbal and written instructions. Learn basic computer transactions and inputs; become certified SAP User. Basic math and communication skills. Maintain proficiency in required job skills. Capable of lifting or moving 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting or moving 75 lbs. Able to distinguish different colors.
