Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association

Must-Have: Experience performing ultrasound procedures, except for ABIs and segmental pressure. Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Experience with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite.

Description: In this position, the Sonographer performs ultrasound procedures to obtain desired imaging results according to physician specifications. This includes, but is not limited to, transferring patients for examinations and assisting with the ultrasound examination process. Responsible for the appropriate operation of all ultrasound imaging and related equipment. Educates, positions, and immobilizes patients while performing ultrasound procedures. Coordinates ultrasound examinations to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care. Understands and follows provider imaging orders accurately. Submits required images and related clinical information for interpretation. Evaluates image quality appropriately. Maintains open, accurate, and responsive communication with patients, coworkers, and leadership. Utilizes, charges, and maintains department supplies appropriately. Practices sterile technique and follows infection prevention policies. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Safely performs ultrasound procedures, including patient transfer.
