The Kuala Lumpur office is a major technology hub for MoneyLion, and this role will help define how AI is built, scaled and applied across the business.

We are looking for a Head of AI - MoneyLion to lead our AI organization as we aim to:

Democratize and proliferate AI to accelerate all work within MoneyLion

Continuously develop highly performant AI inside Moneylion, powering Enrichments, Insights and Financial Products

Deploy MoneyLion inside AI

The head of MoneyLion AI is also responsible for leading strategy around machine learning science, machine learning engineering, machine learning operations, generative AI and adjacent platform capabilities. This person will set direction, raise the bar for execution, and ensure our teams build high quality, scalable and commercially meaningful AI systems.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can operate at multiple altitudes. You should be able to define strategy, align stakeholders, build strong leaders, improve technical and operating rigor, and stay close enough to the work to guide architecture, delivery trade-offs, model lifecycle decisions and the practical application of AI to real business problems.

The ideal candidate thrives in a demanding, fast-moving environment, communicates clearly, thinks critically, and can bring structure and momentum to a broad portfolio spanning platform, product, infrastructure and applied AI initiatives.

• Lead the AI organization across AI, Machine Learning Solutions, Machine Learning Engineering, Machine Learning Operations and related platform or product-facing capabilities.
• Own tangible business outcomes across enrichment of data, AI powered insights and algorithms and models deployed across products and platforms
• Set the strategic direction for AI in MoneyLion, translating business goals into clear roadmaps, operating plans and measurable outcomes
• Spearhead an emerging strategy to have MoneyLion in AI
• Build, develop and empower strong managers, technical leads and individual contributors across the organization
• Establish a high-performance operating model across planning, prioritization, execution, reporting, hiring and talent development
• Drive strong collaboration across AI, Engineering, Product, Data, Analytics, Risk, Fraud, Operations and executive stakeholders
• Ensure AI initiatives are grounded in practical business value, with clear ownership of outcomes, trade-offs, timelines and quality standards
• Oversee the full lifecycle of AI systems and platforms, from ideation and design through productionisation, monitoring, iteration and retirement
• Strengthen the technical foundations required to build and scale AI reliably, including data quality, feature readiness, experimentation, deployment, observability and operational resilience
• Guide the portfolio across both near-term execution and longer-term capability building, balancing business urgency with platform health and architectural quality
• Raise the bar on technical judgement, product thinking, communication and delivery discipline across the organization
• Partner with senior leadership on organizational design, headcount planning, succession planning and the long-term evolution of the department
• Represent the organization with clarity and credibility in senior forums, helping align priorities and communicate progress, risks and opportunities
• Hire outstanding talent and continue building a strong, ambitious and growth-minded AI organisation in Kuala Lumpur

• You have significant experience leading multidisciplinary AI or machine learning organisations, ideally across data science & engineering
• You have a strong track record of building and scaling teams, developing leaders, and improving organizational effectiveness in a complex environment
• You are comfortable leading both strategic planning and execution details, and know when to stay high level versus when to go deep
• You understand modern machine learning systems end to end, including data foundations, model development, deployment, monitoring, platform needs and operational trade-offs
• You have meaningful exposure to multiple AI domains such as applied ML, search, recommendation systems, decisioning, LLM-powered systems, GenAI products or internal AI platforms
• You can confidently partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex ideas into clear decisions and practical next steps
• You have strong product and business instincts, and can connect AI investments to customer impact, business performance, efficiency or risk reduction
• You have experience operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, legacy constraints and evolving business needs
• You are a strong people leader who sets high standards, gives clear feedback, coaches effectively and builds a culture of accountability and growth
• You are hands-on enough to challenge assumptions, shape direction and support teams through ambiguity without needing to own every detail directly
• You communicate with clarity, pace and good judgement, and can create alignment across a wide and varied stakeholder group
• Experience in fintech, fraud, risk, decisioning, marketplace systems or regulated environments is strongly preferred
• Experience leading AI teams in a high-growth or transformation environment is a strong advantage
• Experience building or scaling teams in Kuala Lumpur or across distributed regional teams is a plus
