This is an exciting opportunity to apply your experience in a fast-paced environment and continue growing your skill What You'll Do: Gather and verify information through interviews, observation and research ensuring that the news reported remains objective and balanced Monitor sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media Plan, write, edit, and voice news broadcasts Finalize content using digital audio editing software Maintain crucial deadlines in order to provide news stories in a timely fashion Repackage content from producers and field reporters for newscasts Identify technical equipment and resource requirements for recording interviews and other audio material Produce features and interviews as assigned May specialize in a particular field of news broadcasting (e.g. political, traffic, finance or military) Prepare written content, visual images, audio material and video footage for websites, blogs or other social-media platforms What You'll Need: Expertise using Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms To be knowledgeable and up-to-date on local and national trends and/or to have specialized knowledge of subjects/events related to on-air topics Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation Well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviews Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar Proficiency in media production and broadcast systems Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi task in a fast-paced environment Bilingualism is a plus 3+ years' experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station 4 – year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications What You'll Bring: Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return Subject matter expertise to conceive and communicate original ideas A growth mindset with knowledge sharing and mentorship within the team Open communication about a variety of complex ideas to encourage a broad point of view and build a team consensus Strong desire for collaboration between teams Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Commitment to continuous process improvement for overall team effectiveness Advanced problem-solving techniques Location: Atlanta, GA: 1255 Makers Way, Suite A, 30318 Position Type: Regular Time Type: Part time Pay Type: Hourly Benefits: iHeartMedia's benefits offering is flexible and offers a variety of choices to meet the diverse needs of our changing workforce, including the following: Employer sponsored medical, dental and vision with a variety of coverage options (employees meeting ACA measurement) A 401K plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at no cost – services include telephonic counseling sessions, consultation on legal and financial matters, emotional well-being, family and caregiving A range of additional voluntary programs, such as spending accounts, student loan refinancing, accident insurance and more!
