Human Resources ManagerWe are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations for our laboratory locations across Alabama. Working closely with executive leadership, this individual will shape and deliver people strategies that support a high-performing, compliant, and safety-focused workplace. The role provides statewide leadership across talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, HR systems, training and development, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action, payroll oversight, and employment-law compliance.The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on HR professional who combines broad functional expertise with the judgment and independence needed to support teams across Alabama. This person will manage day-to-day HR operations, lead cross-functional initiatives, and build trusted relationships with employees, managers, and executive leadership. Success in the role requires confidence using HR technology, strong knowledge of employment practices, and the ability to balance employee needs, operational priorities, compliance, and the unique demands of a laboratory setting.Ultimately, you should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR department and the organization.Key Responsibilities• Oversee RecruitingManage recruiter(s)Coordinate with all temp agenciesCreate relationships with local tech schools and collegesAttend Job fairsSocial media broadcastServe as interviewer, when neededManage Job Offer LettersReview Reference Checks, Background Checks, and Drug Testing results• On boardingComplete hiring process and enroll new hires in payroll and benefit systemsConduct E-VerifySet up and conduct orientation for new employeesConduct Time Clock training and review Employee Handbook• Training and DevelopmentManage record keeping for training, training matrix, and ensure all is up to dateFacilitate required training for managers and employees• Manage Employee PerformanceEnsure all reviews are completed in a timely mannerCoaching and counseling Managers and EmployeesCoordinate with supervisors and manager on employee corrective actionsMonitor employee Performance Improvement Plans• Employee HandbookWork with key managers to maintain updated policiesAffirmative Action and Employment law compliance• Benefits AdministrationResponsible for the management and administration of all benefit programsRespond to requests for information from Disability, Workers Comp, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, and other claims• SeparationsConduct exit interviewsRespond to Unemployment Compensation claims• HRISMaintain all employee recordsResponsible for the HRIS, LMS and applicant tracking systemOversee full cycle Payroll• Manage Key Metrics for HR Required Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.7+ years of human resource management experience.PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications a plus. Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize tasks.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Good understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the Company's human resource information management (HCIM) platform and recruiting systems.Proficiency with ADP Workforce is a plusExperience with Breezy ATS is a plus. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.Ability to travel throughout Alabama, as needed. Travel 10% or less.
