Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 3\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring NM or compact RN license and 2 years of Med/Surg experience.Details\n \n Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting\n Patient ratio of 1:6\n Day shift, 4x12 hour schedule (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)\n 36 or 48 hour weekly options available\n Weekend shifts required\n Floating required to like units within scope as needed, with brief unit orientation provided\n Epic charting system experience required\n Requirements\n \n Active NM or compact RN license required (pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start)\n BLS certification required\n 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred\n Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PICC line management\n Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration\n Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols\n Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE\n Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management\n Experience with total joint replacement and surgical drain management\n Additional Information\n \n First-time travelers accepted for this unit\n Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position\n Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler\n Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-754179.
