Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Must have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster license(s) and continuing education credits
• Analyze, evaluate, negotiate and help settle claims of minimal complexity
• Uses discretion and independent judgment in claim handling
• Possesses basic functional knowledge and skills reflective of study and/or on job development
• Phone contact with customers is required to confirm cause, coverage, liability and damages
• Responds to customers in a polite, professional and empathetic manner, matching their needs with The Client s services
• Identifies possibly suspicious claims and may work with the Special Investigations Unit to resolve and negotiate settlements
• May take recorded statements
• May be required to have and maintain sufficient home-based internet connection May be part of a formal training program

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor s degree or working towards your bachelor s degree is strongly preferred
• Typically 1 -3 years of experience in service, finance, or hospitality industry preferred
• Self-starter
• Has an energetic, positive and professional attitude
• Proficiency in using and toggling between multiple computer applications, dual screens, and MS Office products (Word/Excel); Independent use of provided resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills using a variety of tools including phone, email, a core claims system and vendor platforms
• Seeks to collaborate and promotes inclusion and respect
• Has good judgment and makes decisions in an informed, confident and timely manner in the best interest of policy holder
• Thinks critically and anticipates, identifies and develops solutions to problems in a timely manner; operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decision

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Ability to use a personal computer and other standard office equipment
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods (75%-90%)
