If you're looking for a safety-first environment where you can develop leadership skills, expand technical capabilities, and drive results, then GMI Geneva is an excellent place to build your career.What We Have to Offer$37.34 per hour up to $41.59 per hour depending upon skillset and experienceUp to 120 hours of vacation annually11 paid company holidays401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, life insuranceCareer growth and cross-training opportunitiesYour Work Schedule and Shift InformationWe prioritize work life balance, health and wellness, and equal access to resources for development opportunities and advancement.Our Fruit System (Fruit by the Foot and Gushers) has:12-hour shifts (see Shift Schedule and Shift Rotation below)Day shift: 5:30 am to 6:00 pmNight shift: 5:30 pm to 6:00 amShift Schedule2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 offShift Rotation (2-week work blocks)2 weeks on days then 2 weeks on nightsSchedule Perks182 Scheduled Days Off Per YearEvery other weekend is a 3-day weekendAbility and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and emergency eventsPlant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a weekKey AccountabilitiesAs part of our manufacturing team, you will:Be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance of processing and packaging equipment and providing technical support to improve and optimize within the manufacturing operations and processes.Have Equipment Ownership including installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools and equipmentIdentify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and/or electronic issuesProvide technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and equipment modificationOwn and manage DMS (Daily Management System) activities inside and outside of shift DDS (Daily Direction Setting)Manage work orders, parts requisition, and data entry through understanding and use of Maximo Maintenance Management SystemUnderstand, initiate, and participate in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why)Perform both uptime and down time preventative maintenanceParticipate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performanceHave Skillset and leadership development opportunities with a pay-for skills program to achieve higher pay levels by developing and acquiring new skills from an "Equipment Ownership", "Process Ownership" and "Leadership" standpointAssist in training new employeesMinimum QualificationsMinimum of a high school diploma or GEDMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance or related industry experienceMechanical knowledge and understanding of PLC operation, electrical motors, gearboxes and components along with systems troubleshooting, including use of multimeter and specialized toolsExperience in repairing and troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics and using electrical testing equipment strongly preferredBasic shop equipment (mill, lathe, grinder, presses, etc.) preferredBasic computer skills with the ability to use digital tools and systems to complete daily work tasksAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periodsWillingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditionsAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platformsAbility to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standardsAbility to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergensEligibilityApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)General Mills is an equal opportunity employer.
