Software Engineer - GenAI

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Software Engineer - GenAI for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in the DMV area.


Seeking a technically accomplished Software Engineer with a passion for GenAI technologies who will identify, develop, and implement AI-driven solutions within the firm's software development lifecycle. This role requires hands-on experience with GenAI tools, strong engineering judgment to discern high-value automation opportunities, and the ability to serve as a technical advisor on AI implementation. The ideal candidate combines deep software engineering expertise with excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive adoption of AI-enhanced development practices across the organization through training, workshops and community building.



Responsibilities :
AI Enablement & Solution Development

• Collaborate with Enablement team, Engineers, and customers to identify needs and develop AI-driven SDLC solutions
• Prototype and validate solutions as AI tools and processes evolve throughout the year
• Demonstrates strong engineering taste and product judgment-discerning what to build (which automations truly add value), how to build it (balancing simplicity with sophistication), and the ability to communicate these decisions with clarity to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Apply problem-solving skills to address technical challenges in AI tool adoption and integration
• Bridge the gap between emerging AI capabilities and practical implementation in firm's SDLC
• Rapidly incorporate new solutions into training materials and delivery as they are developed
• Serve as technical advisor on AI tool selection, implementation patterns, and best practices

Content Creation & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Develop instructional materials covering SDLC best practices, AI integration, tools, processes, and standards for multiple training formats (self-service, instructor-led, hands-on labs)
• Identify and engage subject matter experts across technology teams to contribute and validate content
• Consult with technical leaders and engineers to understand processes, pain points, training needs, and solution opportunities
• Build organizational relationships to gather input, secure buy-in, and promote adoption
• Maintain content currency as SDLC practices, AI tools, and technologies evolve rapidly
• Continuously improve training based on feedback, changing needs, and emerging technologies
• Track and measure training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics

Training Delivery

• Facilitate instructor-led training sessions for technical and non-technical audiences
• Present to groups ranging from small teams to large organizational audiences
• Adapt delivery style based on audience size, technical level, and learning objectives
• Provide technical demonstrations of tools, processes, and best practices

Required Skills :

• 5+ years in software development with demonstrated SDLC expertise
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Experience working on enablement initiatives or internal developer tools/platforms
• Proven ability to learn and adopt new technologies rapidly

Technical Knowledge & Development Background

• Strong SDLC expertise including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), testing strategies, and deployment practices
• Developer background with hands-on software development experience and coding proficiency
• AI integration in SDLC including AI-powered development tools (eg: AWS Kiro cli)
• Capability to identify and correct low-quality AI-generated content
• Solution development experience working with cross-functional teams to build and implement technical solutions
• Deep understanding of development tools, cloud technologies, and deployment platforms
• Advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and design innovative solutions

Instructional Design & Training Delivery

• Ability to rapidly update training content as solutions and tools evolve

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Confident public speaking and presentation to technical audiences of varying sizes
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly across organizational levels (engineers, customers, leadership)
• Stakeholder management and influence without authority across Enablement teams and engineering groups
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Technical credibility to engage meaningfully with engineering teams on solution development

Collaboration & Enablement

• Cross-functional collaboration experience working with Enablement teams, engineering, and end-users
• Ability to gather requirements and translate customer needs into practical solutions
• Experience in iterative solution development and rapid prototyping
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with emerging technologies
• Partnership mindset to co-create solutions rather than just document existing processes
