Does that sound like you? The Opportunity with McKinstry We're seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner – Craft & Skilled Trades to join our recruiting team in Seattle, WA. This role will have a strong focus on recruiting union craft and skilled-trades talent across McKinstry’s construction and service businesses, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and other field-based positions. You’ll partner closely with operations and field leadership to understand workforce needs, develop proactive recruiting strategies, and build strong talent pipelines to support McKinstry’s continued growth. Your responsibilities will include: Recruit Builds talent networks within business-specific practitioner and skilled-trades communities. Selects and directly sources, interviews, qualifies, negotiates offers, and hires candidates to fill open requisitions. Develops and executes proactive recruiting strategies for union craft, skilled-trades, field, and service positions through direct sourcing, industry networking, employee referrals, and community outreach. Partners closely with operations leaders, field leadership, superintendents, service leaders, HR Business Partners, and labor relations partners to understand current and future workforce needs. Develops and manages partnerships with apprenticeship and training programs, trade schools, industry organizations, and community partners to build sustainable skilled-trades and craft talent pipelines. Develops a working understanding of applicable collective bargaining environments, craft classifications, apprenticeship programs, union hiring and dispatch practices, and other requirements impacting craft recruiting. Maintains a consistent focus on the marketplace and provides business leaders with relevant labor market intelligence, including skilled-trades availability, competitive hiring activity, wage trends, and recruiting challenges. Proactively networks and establishes effective working relationships with candidates, business leaders, and industry partners. Addresses legal and compliance issues related to talent acquisition. Trains HR staff on the Applicant Tracking System. Pursues conscious cost-containment efforts in recruiting. Researches new and innovative ways to leverage the Internet, social media, and professional networking sites to identify and source candidates. Adds value during the offer stage by ensuring candidate decision triggers are clearly understood. Takes the lead and is resourceful and persistent in driving solutions to recruiting challenges. Demonstrates a strong client focus and commitment to continuous improvement. Drives continuous enhancements to candidate site(s). Screens, interviews, and manages active candidates throughout the recruiting process. Ensures that McKinstry’s employment value proposition is communicated effectively by providing information on specific job and career advancement opportunities. Tracks candidate workflows, source data, pre-screen information, and all other required recruiting metrics. Creates Boolean and other complex search strings in both paid web boards and standard search engines. Individually and collaboratively streamlines processes and drives measurable results. Maintains all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Applicant Tracking System. Manages additional HR projects as required. Development Develops search plans and works within a contact management system. Develops creative approaches to delivering quality candidates. Develops a strong understanding of assigned business groups’ structure, strategies, field operations, workforce composition, project pipelines, geographic labor markets, and critical skill requirements. Partners with business and HR leadership to anticipate future craft and skilled-trades workforce needs and develops sourcing strategies ahead of demand. Builds trusted relationships with field and operations leadership and serves as a recruiting resource on talent availability, market conditions, and workforce recruiting strategies. Possess a reputation for exceptional at candidate generation by forging dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, and HR business partners to meet talent needs. Provides the highest quality of customer service for the organization and builds long-term, high-potential talent pipelines to support future growth projections. What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry Demonstrated experience recruiting skilled-trades, union craft, construction, field, and/or service talent. Experience recruiting electricians, pipefitters, plumbers, sheet metal workers, fire protection professionals, HVAC/service technicians, or similar skilled-trades populations strongly preferred. Experience recruiting within a union construction, specialty contractor, MEP, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or similar skilled-trades environment preferred. Working knowledge of union/craft recruiting practices, collective bargaining environments, apprenticeship programs, craft classifications, and union hiring/dispatch practices preferred. Demonstrated ability to proactively source and build pipelines for difficult-to-fill craft and skilled-trades positions rather than relying solely on active applicants. Experience partnering with construction operations, field leadership, superintendents, service managers, or similar operational leaders to understand and deliver against workforce needs preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in networking and familiarity with best search practices. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion. Some knowledge of multi-state and federal employment laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, OFCCP, and general HR practices preferred. The pay range for this position is $72,090 - $119,300per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
