Description

Chauffer

Provides transportation support for the residence to include transporting residents for scheduled community activities, chauffeur services to assist individual residents, and delivery and pick up support for the community.

Essential Duties:

• Operates the car or van/bus that is located at the residence.
• Provides transportation for residents to various appointments, shopping trips, and other locations as directed.
• Assists residents on/off the van/bus or in/out of the car along with their belongings.
• Ensure all residents using wheelchairs are properly secured in the van/bus.
• Complies with state regulations regarding passenger and equipment safety.
• Responsible for maintaining the appearance and operating condition of all residence vehicles.
• Coordinates the appointment schedule for medical appointments with the Director of Nursing/Health and Wellness Director/Coordinator
• Will keep certification current and participate in continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and web-based trainings.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Prefer prior experience in AL, IL or SNF. Require one year of prior experience in commercial driving or large vehicle operation. Prefer prior experience in passenger transportation.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must maintain a current driver license for the state the vehicle operates in.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Certified Nurse Aid License required.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Requires attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
