Number of Staff: 19 staff members with 6 new nurses onboarding within this month

Patient Ratios: 1:5

EMR: Meditech / CPN

Typical Procedures: Standard med surg care, chemo administration

Best Personality Fit: Positive attitude, willing to work as a team

Unit Guidelines/Policies: VS performed q8h, remote tele patients get VS q4h, chemotherapy can only be hung and handled by chemo-certified nurses

Additional Information: We are an awesome team that is a med/surg unit with a focus in Oncology care, we have a strong charge nurse team that helps to support new staff members. We also are a remote tele unit so we see a bit of everything along with our oncology patients. Our hospital is in the top 100 hospitals of the nation and we are proud of the quality care that we give. Our team is very positive, and it is a joy to work with, we often have float pool staff say they love coming to our unit because the teamwork is so strong. We are also a magnet facility so we really appreciate nurses input in how care should be delivered to our patients and we also use an iPhone nursing system so nurses can text and call any care team member immediately from their work iPhone.
