Property Accountant

Title: Property Accountant Location: West Houston, TX Pay: $37-$38/hour Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and more Job Summary: Our client is seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join their accounting team in West Houston. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of property accounting experience and a strong understanding of full-cycle accounting. Experience with Yardi and/or MRI is highly preferred . This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end close, and managing accounting activities for assigned properties. Responsibilities Perform full-cycle accounting for assigned properties Prepare monthly financial statements and property-level financial reports Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations Prepare and post journal entries and recurring entries Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities related to assigned properties Review and reconcile property income and expenses Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting documentation Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes Prepare variance analyses and investigate discrepancies Review property budgets and compare actual results to budget Assist with CAM reconciliations and tenant-related accounting Work with property management teams to resolve accounting discrepancies Support audits and provide requested financial documentation Maintain accurate and organized accounting records Perform other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications 3+ years of Property Accounting experience required 3+ years of full-cycle accounting experience required Yardi and/or MRI experience highly preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations Experience with month-end close and financial reporting Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines Excellent communication and organizational skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
