Recycling Services Representative

Job Description Position Title : Recycling Services Representative Location : 5505 SW Western Ave, Beaverton, OR 97005 Pay Range : $63,700 - $84,900 (salary may vary based on experience, skills and other factors). This position is eligible to participate in our Sales Incentive Plan. A Recycling Representative’s role is to evaluate a supplier’s recycling needs and offers, through consultative sales techniques, and recommend solutions that fulfill those needs to generate and maintain profitability in order to achieve unit objectives and business goals. Executing business development activities through all phases of the sales process—including prospect development, cold calling, submitting proposals and actively competing for recovered fiber from commercial, manufacturing and industrial businesses that generate recyclable materials— is a primary function of this role. The position requires a self‑motivated individual capable of selling a service rather than a product and acquiring new customers that are profitable while meeting their recycling demands. The Job You Will Perform Develops and secures profitable recyclable material supply for the plant Understands plant costs and applies that knowledge through the use of account profitability analysis tools Uses professional selling skills to acquire new business by understanding the plant’s capabilities and sourcing fiber accordingly Develops and executes an effective prospecting and fiber procurement plan Monitors recycling market pricing and adjusts existing supplier pricing as needed to maintain satisfactory margin Act as a liaison between the supplier and the plant to ensure timely, accurate information flow between the two in order to maintain a positive long‑term relationship Develop a clear understanding of supplier’s business and critical requirements through frequent visits to supplier’s facilities Handle supplier complaints promptly and effectively Practice effective time and territory management Function effectively as a member of the plant fiber sourcing team Interface effectively with other departments and maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders Own the account and all that the account entails Understand buy‑sell margins and overall margin management The above job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
