Role Overview:

The Manufacturing Technician II is a fully qualified direct labor position responsible for independently completing multiple assembly, inspection, test-support, and packaging operations within an assigned product family or value stream. The role requires broader product and process knowledge than Manufacturing Assembler I, reliable interpretation of controlled documentation, consistent quality judgment within defined criteria, and the ability to support peer training on certified tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all HSE requirements, PPE rules, ergonomic practices, equipment safeguards, controlled-area requirements, and approved procedures. Stop work and immediately escalate any unsafe or uncontrolled condition.
• Perform work exactly to the current drawing, bill of material, work instruction, inspection plan, and acceptance criteria. Do not pass defects to the next operation.
• Complete multi-step mechanical, electrical, fluidic, adhesive, or precision assembly operations using approved tools, fixtures, torque devices, gauges, and controlled materials.
• Independently interpret current work instructions, drawings, bills of material, visual aids, specifications, and revision controls applicable to certified operations.
• Perform defined in-process inspections, dimensional checks, functional checks, or test preparation; record results and apply the specified reaction plan.
• Demonstrate certified tasks to employees under an approved trainer or supervisor process without changing the standard method.
• Recognize recurring defects, fit or function variation, tool wear, material concerns, and documentation conflicts; contain the condition and escalate with relevant facts.
• Meet the defined standard work, takt or cycle-time expectations, schedule priorities, and daily output requirements while protecting safety and quality.
• Complete production, inspection, material, lot, serial, labor, and system transactions accurately and at the time the work is performed. Never backdate, guess, or bypass required records.
• Verify part identity, revision, quantity, lot status, shelf life, and point-of-use condition before use. Segregate and report suspect or nonconforming material.
• Escalate safety, quality, equipment, material, documentation, and delivery abnormalities immediately using the defined chain of support. Provide facts and preserve evidence.
• Maintain a clean, organized, audit-ready work area; protect tools, fixtures, gauges, and product; and follow standard work without unauthorized process changes.
• Communicate shift status clearly, support handoffs, participate in daily accountability routines, and work respectfully across Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Materials.
• Identify waste, recurring defects, delays, ergonomic risks, and process instability. Participate in approved improvement activity and sustain updated standard work,

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or demonstrated equivalent manufacturing capability.
• 1 or more years of relevant assembly or manufacturing experience, or successful qualification and sustained performance at the Manufacturing Assembler I level.
• Working knowledge of multiple assembly operations, controlled documentation, product identification, defect types, traceability, and reaction plans.
• Ability to use applicable hand tools, torque tools, fixtures, simple gauges, visual standards, and production systems after qualification.
• Ability to perform repetitive and precision work, use required PPE, and satisfy the physical and environmental requirements of the assigned area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with precision assembly, electronics, fluidics, adhesives, clean handling, leak testing, or laboratory product manufacturing.
• Experience in an ISO 9001 or similarly controlled manufacturing environment.

• Understands the sequence, key characteristics, defect risks, and acceptance criteria for multiple certified assembly operations.
• Selects the correct revision and completes records with minimal correction.
• Applies defined visual, dimensional, and functional acceptance criteria consistently.
• Distinguishes normal from abnormal conditions and executes the established reaction plan.
• Shares knowledge clearly and reinforces the approved method without assuming supervisory authority.

Pay Range

$21.26 - $29.16

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
