Responsibilities You will perform advanced and complex troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications to all aircraft systems and components. You will conduct thorough inspections, using specialized equipment to diagnose faults and determine corrective actions. You will utilize technical manuals, service bulletins and other publications to develop work plans and repair strategies. You will ensure the maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety standards, technical requirements and regulatory guidelines. The Screen-out Element for WG-10 position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. 1) Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of materials, tools, equipment, and techniques required for aircraft mechanic work; 2) Diagnosing issues with systems and recommending solutions; 3) Removing, installing, connecting, aligning, adjusting, and testing complex systems and assemblies. The Screen-out Element for WG-08 position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. 1) Demonstrating knowledge of materials, tools, equipment and techniques for aircraft mechanic work; 2) Assisting in diagnosing issues with systems; 3)Supporting in removing, installing, connecting, aligning, adjusting and testing complex systems and assemblies. The Screen-out Element for WG-05 position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Vacancies filled from this announcement may be filled at any grade level listed. If selected below the full performance level, you may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed. This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment.
