Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer Job Summary DATE POSTED 1 day ago Schedule Full-time Job Code 4353 Employee Status Regular Grade K Requisition ID 108785 Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) is the operational core of Stanford University’s physical campus, responsible for the construction and maintenance of the campus. The Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer works within the Water Resources and Civil Infrastructure Group to oversee the engineering, operation, and maintenance of water distribution, storm drainage, sanitary sewer systems, roads, bridges, and dams. The role requires broad civil engineering experience with a focus on sustainability and long‑term infrastructure planning. Responsibilities Manage engineering aspects of civil infrastructure systems, including reliability and capacity assurance; develop capital programs; identify, scope, plan, prioritize, and implement capital projects; and perform quality control and assurance. Conduct system evaluations and engineering efforts such as hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, field inspections, condition assessments, data management, and field reconnaissance. Prepare engineering analyses, reports, and design drawings; review clearance and constructability of designs. Collaborate with the team to enhance operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and project implementation. Coordinate with utilities managers, land‑use planning, and development colleagues to minimize campus disruption. Work directly with the group director to understand priorities and processes, and manage complex studies/analyses. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in civil engineering required; Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience including roads, drainage, water systems, and sewer systems; experience with hydraulic calculations, project planning, and construction inspection. Professional engineering license in California preferred. Proficiency with GIS/CAD, instrumentation & controls systems, and infrastructure modeling software (InfoWater, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, AutoCAD, etc.). Strong analytical, design, and field skills; ability to lead meetings and present findings. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with conventional permitting processes and government agency coordination. Highly motivated, collaborative professional approach. Additional Information Must possess a valid California non‑commercial Class C Driver’s License. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, sitting, office tasks, and telephone use. Occasional kneeling, crawling, twisting, bending, stooping, and carrying objects weighing 21‑40 pounds. Ability to obtain and maintain a California non‑commercial driver’s license; capable of driving day or night. Working Conditions May require some travel and evening/weekend work. Pay Range The expected pay range for this position is $160,845 to $178,000 per annum. Base pay is one component of the comprehensive rewards package, which includes benefits detailed on the Cardinal at Work website.
