APPLICATION AND PRELIMINARY BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION: Applicants are required to complete an application and all supplemental questions on-line at Candidates will receive a confirmation email once their application has been submitted successfully. Human Resources will submit all candidates to LRPD personnel for a preliminary background check. If any of the following are found during the preliminary background, the candidate will be automatically disqualified: Invalid driver's license; Prior felony conviction - NOTE: Expunged and/or pardoned felonies still disqualify candidates from employment as a Police Officer. Prior domestic abuse conviction; Excessive traffic points accrued within the past three years. Applicants who have successfully completed the on-line application, supplemental questions, and the preliminary background check will receive additional information about scheduling for the written/online exam and physical endurance and ability testing. Test dates will be available on a first come first served basis. Testing dates will be provided upon testing eligibility verification.
