Position Overview

The School Registered Nurse oversees the nursing process and delivery of student healthcare services within the school setting. The RN supports the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students while promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.

The School RN plays a vital role in:

• Promoting student health and safety
• Managing chronic and acute health conditions
• Responding to medical emergencies
• Administering medications and treatments
• Conducting health assessments and monitoring
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and healthcare providers
• Supporting individualized healthcare plans and student wellness initiatives
• Maintaining accurate health records and documentation

Services are provided in accordance with Amergis standards, policies, professional nursing practices, and physician orders.

Qualifications

Required

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota or eligible for licensure
• Current CPR certification (if applicable)

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• School Nurse Certification, as required by state or contract
• One year of school nursing, pediatric nursing, or public health experience
• Knowledge of school health services and care coordination
