Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the sterilization, preparation, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment to support patient care operations. This role ensures compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities:

• Operate sterilization equipment to process surgical instruments according to manufacturer and hospital protocols.
• Inspect, assemble, and package instruments and equipment for sterilization, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain detailed documentation of sterilization processes and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to meet instrument readiness and troubleshooting needs.
• Adhere to infection control policies and update procedures as required.
• Assist with inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels and proper storage.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active PA or Compact license with a minimum of 1 year of experience in sterile processing.
• Possess current AHA certifications applicable to sterile processing.
• Demonstrate proficiency with sterilization equipment, preferably Cerner systems.
• Be willing to float within hospital departments and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius.
• Ability to complete required onboarding modules, fingerprinting, and compliance within set deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines.
