Manufacturing Shift Supervisor

Expanded Technologies is seeking a hands‑on Shift Supervisor to lead daily production activities in our expanded metal manufacturing operation. This role provides visible shop‑floor leadership and is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent production while meeting quality, productivity, and delivery goals.

The Shift Supervisor oversees all aspects of shift execution, including staffing, production flow, safety, quality, and equipment readiness. The position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and a strong focus on lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and employee development. The ideal candidate is a proactive floor leader who can troubleshoot issues in real time, hold teams accountable, and lead by example.

Responsibilities include leading daily production operations; supervising, coaching, and supporting up to 27 hourly manufacturing employees per shift; enforcing safety policies and regulatory requirements; coordinating with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Training; overseeing in‑process inspections and responding to quality issues; supporting scrap, rework, and downtime reduction efforts; leading onboarding and cross‑training initiatives; conducting structured shift handoffs; tracking key performance metrics; and approving timekeeping and shift documentation.

Qualifications·

• 3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing or metal fabrication, with prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
• Hands‑on experience supervising hourly production employees in a shop‑floor environment
• Knowledge of expanded metal or similar metal manufacturing processes and material handling equipment
• Strong understanding of manufacturing safety requirements, including OSHA regulations, PPE, lockout/tagout, and machine guarding
• Experience supporting quality checks, scrap control, and nonconformance resolution
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
• Strong coaching, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience with employee training, cross‑training, and performance accountability
• Ability to track production metrics and complete shift reports and timekeeping

Physical & Work Environment

• Prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and twisting.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs.
• Warehouse environment with fluctuating extreme temperatures.
• Full-time – 12-hour rotating shifts.-1st Shift: 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. or 2nd Shift: 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.
