Site Manager

Overview HM Staffing is seeking a Project Construction Manager , who will be responsible for total delivery of services safely, on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations on moderately complex projects. This role requires progressive experience in construction management and involves the use of project controls for cost, schedule, and quality. This work is performed under the supervision of the Site's Senior Construction Manager. Responsibilities Support ongoing effort to execute project deliverables as they relate to the projects. Familiarity with department standards; familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria. Maintain extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements with a commitment to a zero-accidents environment; ensure contractors activities are planned and executed with safety first. Responsible for the safe performance of all contractors on the assigned project. Consult with design leaders and follow up to ensure efficient progress and quality of technical contractual activities on one or more projects of various sizes. Promote continued relationships with clients. Participate in field construction efforts, design phase services, subcontracting, and major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions. Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly. Provide on-site assistance during startup. Coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Consult with design leaders to ensure smooth flow of vital information for scheduled completion. Advise engineering personnel concerning design or scope changes identified. Review vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for input, reviews construction specifications, and review fabrication drawings and submittals for conformance. Coordinate contractor activities to avoid lost time due to problem resolutions or lack of direction; monitor contractor resource assignments to ensure appropriate staffing. Support bidding activities with supplier base. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to lead a small team to deliver on commitments; knowledge of Rio Tinto project execution procedures; knowledge of company standards and project controls tools. Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management; comprehensive understanding of engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes. Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations; able to relate to customers, suppliers, contractors, government, and professional/trade associations. Ability to handle stress with poise; understand customer needs and preferences; ability to delegate authority; ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements; ability to set priorities; demonstrated leadership with team orientation; coaching and mentoring skills. Excellent listening, communication (verbal and written), presentation, leadership and organizational skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
