Colorectal Surgeon Job Summary

Beacon Medical Group seeks a full‑time, board‑certified or board‑eligible, fellowship‑trained colorectal surgeon to join our premier practice in South Bend, Indiana. The role offers two practice options: a focused colorectal program limited to colon and rectal surgery—including endoscopy, minimally invasive procedures, elective and emergency cases—or a hybrid model combining colorectal and general surgery cases (60/40), gradually transitioning to a colorectal‑only focus.

Must Have Qualifications for Colorectal Surgeon
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Fellowship trained colorectal surgeon
  • Committed to clinical excellence
  • Excellent communication skills and dedication to delivering high quality patient care
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications for Colorectal Surgeon
  • Robotic experience is a plus
Work Schedule
  • 36 patient contact hours per week
  • Call duties shared at a 1:5 ratio on weekdays and weekends, coordinated with general surgery partners
  • 1.0 FTE position with call shared equally among the group
Leadership Role Opportunities
  • Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards
  • Research opportunities available
  • Affiliation with Indiana University School of Medicine at Notre Dame and Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency for teaching residents, medical students, and supervising post‑graduate trainees
  • Collaboration with regional academic centers and opportunities for education and clinical research with students and residents
