Job Description: RESPONSIBILITIES: Building Operating Engineers perform skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and minor installation of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, laundry equipment, kitchen equipment, and other related equipment. WORK LOCATION: Macomb Campus APPOINTMENT: As soon as possible HOURLY WAGE: $40.66 Western Illinois University employees may be eligible for a variety of State of Illinois benefits. Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years (36 months) of full-time employment in the maintenance of building mechanical equipment and/or as a mechanic of refrigeration, ventilation, and/or food-service equipment.
- Demonstrated experience as an HVAC mechanic. An Associate's degree or equivalent in HVAC may be substituted for the demonstrated experience.
- A Refrigerant Certification for recovery and recycling of equipment (EPA section 608 Technician Certification) is required.
