Director, Product Design Operations

We are looking for a Director of Product Design Operations to lead Product Ops within the broader Product & Design Operations team, ensuring Product has the systems, insights, operating rhythms, and program leadership needed to make decisions and move priorities forward. This leader oversees the strategic processes for driving clarity, alignment, and momentum across complex HW/SW initiatives, with deeper execution support reserved for the most complex or highest-priority programs. What You Will Do: As Director, you will set the operational strategy and priorities for this function, build and develop the process for the Product Manager team, and deploy Product Design Operations resources where they can have the greatest organizational impact. You will serve as a senior partner to Product and Design leadership, continually evolving how the organization operates as Ōura’s portfolio, teams, and ways of building products scale Product Operating Model: Set the direction for processes and operating rhythms supporting intake, continuous planning, prioritization, portfolio management, and cross-functional product programs, ensuring the Product Operations team continually evolves them as the organization scales Portfolio & Resource Management: Establish how leadership gains visibility across product verticals, priorities, dependencies, capacity, and resource needs; oversee Product headcount planning, load balancing, and budget management in partnership with Product leadership Product Insights: Guide the development of scalable systems that capture, synthesize, and route customer feedback, reviews, research, and market chatter directly to Product teams, increasingly using automation and AI to surface meaningful signals AI-Enabled Product Operations: Set the direction for using AI to automate and rapidly scale operational processes, while partnering with Product and Design leadership to evolve Product Management practices as AI changes how products are conceived, evaluated, and built Product Communication & Visibility: Set the standard for clear, durable product reporting, dashboards, and sources of truth that provide an accurate view of the portfolio without creating unnecessary reporting overhead Executive Product Narratives: Ensure Product leadership is supported with clear narratives, recommendations, and decision materials for executive product discussions and reviews Strategic Facilitation: Ensure the Product Operations team creates and facilitates effective workshops, planning sessions, and cross-functional forums that help teams clarify strategy, resolve difficult trade-offs, and identify opportunities across the portfolio Product Design Producer Leadership: Build, lead, develop, and allocate the Product Producer team against the organization’s most important and complex programs, maintaining a high bar for strategic program management, judgment, and cross-functional influence What you'll bring 10+ years of experience across Product Operations, Product Management, Production, Program Management, or related disciplines, including significant people and organizational leadership experience Demonstrated ability to build and lead a Product Operations function and develop high- performing teams supporting complex, cross-functional product organizations Experience working across integrated hardware and software products Strong product and design intuition, with the ability to operate as a trusted strategic partner to senior Product and Design leaders Experience with portfolio planning, resource allocation, headcount planning, and budget management Exceptional ability to synthesize complexity into clear narratives, decisions, and recommendations for senior leaders Strong organizational judgment, including the ability to determine where Product Operations involvement will have the greatest impact and when teams should be empowered to execute independently Experience establishing effective strategic planning, facilitation, and decision-making mechanisms across complex organizations Practical curiosity about AI and a track record of adopting tools and processes that improve organizational velocity Strong relationship-building and influence skills across Product, Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional organizations Outstanding written, verbal, and executive communication skills This is a hybrid role out of our San Francisco office. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
