Job Description
The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various heavy vehicles including flatbed trucks, excavators, rollers, skid loaders, and dump trucks. This role involves transporting supplies, gravel, dirt, and topsoil primarily on regional and local routes with a focus on timely delivery while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The position is Monday through Friday with no overnight travel, ensuring daily return home.
Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed trucks, excavators, rollers, skid loaders, and dump trucks safely and efficiently
- Transport supplies, gravel, dirt, and topsoil on regional and local routes
- Perform vehicle inspections and routine maintenance to ensure operational safety
- Navigate routes effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Handle cargo loading and unloading with care to prevent damage
- Engage professionally with customers during interactions
- Manage time to ensure punctual arrival and departure
- Comply with all relevant safety and transportation regulations
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- 1+ years experience in commercial driving
- CDL holder preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial driving and vehicle safety inspections
- Strong route planning and time management skills
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and customer service best practices
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
