Legal Support Coordinator - Washington D.C.

Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz, PC has an opening for a Legal Support Coordinator in its Washington, D.C office. Candidates should have 5 years of experience, a positive attitude, and a solid work ethic. Prior experience in a law firm is a must.

The ideal candidate will have experience providing administrative support in a professional law firm environment and will possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in MS Word (high priority), Outlook, and Excel, as well as a typing speed of at least 65 words per minute with high accuracy, are required.

Responsibilities

1. 5-7 years Legal Secretary experience is a must.
2. Litigation experience preferred.
3. E-filing experience preferred but not required.
4. Opens new files, requests conflict of interest checks, and maintains all client and general files.
5. Conducts periodic review for possible storage of older files; prepares files to be closed.
6. Proofs, processes and prepares client bills for mailing.
7. Assists with time entry as requested.
8. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
9. Handles incoming mail as directed by attorneys. Prepares outgoing mail or packages for shipment. If necessary, routes mail to specific delivery service and follows up on timely delivery.
10. Establishes and maintains electronic calendar and deadline reminder system for attorneys.
11. Monitor attorney's incoming e-mails.
12. Maintain client contacts and mailing lists.
13. Schedules appointments, multi-party conference calls, conference rooms, and travel arrangements for attorneys.
14. Completes expense reimbursement forms for attorneys.
15. Operates a computer and other general office equipment, digital and transcription equipment.
16. Physical presence in the office is an essential duty of this position.
17. Performs other duties as requested by the Office Administrator.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000.
