RN - ICU

Registered Nurse (ICU)

Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient and the healthcare team. Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. Completes patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.

Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment. Two years of current experience in the specialty required. EPIC experience preferred; training will be provided onsite. Key skills include patient care, nursing process, patient assessment, care planning, and care implementation. Additional skills include collaboration, protocol utilization, medication administration, treatment administration, patient and family education, clinical supervision, care evaluation, documentation, competency testing, teamwork, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment. Required Education: One of the following is required: - Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) - Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
