Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Intermediate Care for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with a focus on heavy telemetry, ventilator and tracheostomy management, and trauma stabilization. The role requires a resilient, fast-paced approach to meet the needs of a diverse patient population, including sepsis, GI bleed, stroke, and trauma cases. Job Details Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) License, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC); minimum of 2 years' experience including stepdown, intermediate, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU); ventilator and trach experience; at least one prior travel assignment. Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, weekdays and weekends, 36 hours guaranteed per week. Additional Information: Heavy telemetry unit with patient ratios of 4:1; unit handles stable, weaning ventilator and trach patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke. Candidate must be a hard worker, resilient, independently managed, and capable of adapting to change. Submission Requirements: Current Wisconsin RN license, certifications, and proof of experience must be available for compliance.
