As one of the first charter schools in Illinois, Perspectives has a long record of preparing scholars for success in college and beyond. Our five schools across the South Side of Chicago offer an education that combines character development and academic rigor through the A Disciplined Life education model. Our scholars come from some of the most disadvantaged neighborhoods in the country, but they graduate from high school, enroll in college, and persist in college at a rate above the national average. Our instructional leaders embody how to live the 26 principles of A Disciplined Life while also performing functions and duties that guide and support teachers to both adhere to and excel in state standards for their curriculum. The instructional leader builds and maintains a teaching staff committed to authentic student learning and serves as an advocate for social justice, the development of character, and the right to receive and pursue an exceptional education.**Duties and Responsibilities**Teacher Coaching* Ensure that all students experience strong instruction and an engaging school culture by providing high-leverage teacher coaching* Draw upon a variety of coaching frameworks to design differentiated coaching plans that meet each teacher where they are* Design regular school-wide professional development sessions based on classroom observation trends and school priorities* Develop, implement, and refine systems that ensure student learning is monitored in real-time, and guide teachers through data analysis protocols to adjust when needed* Perform formal biannual evaluations of teachers and provide recommendations for teacher retention to school principalAssessment Coordination* Attend annual and quarterly training/meetings previewing protocols for ACT, IAR, ACCESS, HSAT, ISA, and AP testing,* Deliver staff professional development training pertaining to standardized assessmentsMTSS Academic Leadership* Meet biweekly with MTSS leadership team to review data and strategically plan student interventions* Track and ensure the consistent completion of academic screeners* Track and coordinate all educational technology resources related to intervention, including but not limited to iReady, iXL, Really Great Reading, Read 180, and Math 180* Ensure MTSS intervention compliance by monitoring task completion in Branching Minds and observing classroom delivery of academic interventionsSocial Emotional & Ethical Learning* Demonstrate the 26 principles of A Disciplined Life* Build meaningful and professional relationships with staff, students and families* Coach teachers in learning the A Disciplined Life way of teaching.School Leadership* Model exemplary classroom instruction and implementation of school culture priorities* Assist with other school leadership duties as assigned by school principal**Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field from an accredited College or University* Illinois Teaching License is strongly preferred: PEL, ELS(APE), ELS(CTE), or ELS(TBE)* Evidence of success working in an urban school environment strongly preferred* Ability to read and write proficiently using the English language* Ability to interact and speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of people**Physical Demands**Majority of work will be performed in a general office/school environment. Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties.
