Desktop Support Technician

Description Our client -who is a National retail franchise chain specializing in running shoes, apparel, gear, and community-based training programs is in need of a help-desk/desktop support person for contract to hire. Today there are 3 support techs and manager on the Infrastructure team supporting 1000 users in Windows environment with 15% Macintosh. As our Level 2 IT Support Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and software components at an advanced level. This individual will install and configure computer hardware and provide IT support for the organization, tackling more complex issues and serving as an escalation point for other technicians. You will interact with various departments and levels, listen to their technical needs, and help implement IT solutions. We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional troubleshooting abilities, customer service skills, and strong attention to detail. This position is based out of our Distribution Center located in Durham, NC. Some travel to retail stores is required. 20% Responsibilities Technical Support: Receive and process all help desk requests for current employees and retail stores. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, working closely with the Network Administration team. Serve as an escalation point for other technicians, providing guidance and resolution as needed. System Maintenance: Support and maintain hardware, software, and network equipment as necessary. Perform regular system updates, maintenance, and backups. Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to prevent issues. Conduct system diagnostics and performance tuning. Installation and Configuration: Install and configure computer hardware and software. Participate in testing, configuration, and training of new technology. Manage new hire setups, including ordering and configuration of equipment, email, and software installation. Provide technology support for new hire orientations. Any Intune user or administrations skills big plus as this is what they will be migrating to. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
