Here, you will make an impact by:Leading or supporting new product commercialization activities, including process development, scale-up, validation, and manufacturing readinessServing as a technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving process issues related to process conditions and material constructionApplying statistical and engineering methods to monitor, control, and improve process capability, reliability, and product consistencyIdentifying and leading initiatives to improve cost, quality, service, throughput, and yield within assigned areasSupporting and implementing improvements related to process safety, environmental performance, and equipment reliabilityEvaluating capital planning needs and supporting equipment upgrades, modifications, and technology investmentsPartnering with cross-functional teams to plan and execute process trials, experiments, and data-driven improvement projectsDocumenting technical findings, communicating recommendations clearly, and contributing to effective team decision-makingYour Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionOne (1) year of combined experience in manufacturing and/or product/process development in a private, public, government or military environmentAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Master's degree in engineering or science from an accredited institutionThree (3) years of combined experience in manufacturing and/or product/process development in a private, public, government or military environmentTechnical experience in polymer processing, extrusion, compounding, web handling, coating, lamination, adhesives, or roll-to-roll manufacturingExperience with continuous improvement, process scale-up, equipment qualification, and manufacturing optimizationWorking knowledge of statistical process control, process capability analysis, design of experiments, and root cause problem solvingStrong interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, and written/oral communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively across technical and operations teams in a fast-paced environmentWork location: Maplewood, MNTravel: May include up to 10% domesticRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).3M offers many programs to help you live your best life – both physically and financially. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
