Business Insights Project ManagerThe Business Insights Project Manager is responsible for driving the organization's strategic decision-making processes through the management and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics. The role involves defining, monitoring, and evaluating KPIs, generating detailed business reports, raising critical concerns based on performance data, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact initiatives. As part of the Program Management Department, the Business Insights Project Manager will play a pivotal role in translating data into actionable insights and continuously evolving the company's performance measurement frameworks.This role is designed for a forward-thinking individual who excels in both analytics and project management, with the capability to provide clarity and foresight into business operations. As this position evolves, the Business Insights Project Manager will adapt their responsibilities to align with new business needs, emerging market trends, and changing organizational goals.This position is full-time, onsite in our Bethesda, MD office and hours are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexibility in hours is limited, and employees are expected to maintain consistent office attendance.Applicants must be willing to submit to a drug screening and criminal background check. EOE/M/F/V/D.Location: Bethesda, MDTravel: 5-10%Salary Range: $58,000-68,000/yearResponsibilitiesKPI Definition & Evaluation:Support the development and refinement of KPIs across departments, ensuring alignment with company objectives and strategic priorities.Work with senior leadership and department heads to identify key business metrics that accurately reflect company performance.Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current KPIs, adjusting as necessary to reflect changes in business strategy or market conditions.Business Metrics & Reporting:Design, generate, and maintain detailed reports and dashboards to track KPIs and provide real-time insights into business performance.Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern, delivering clear reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders.Create presentations and executive summaries to communicate key findings and insights from the data.Automate and streamline reporting processes to improve efficiency and ensure accuracy.Project Management:Lead cross-functional projects focused on improving business performance, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned, and project timelines are met.Develop detailed project plans, identify risks, and provide regular status updates to leadership.Ensure that projects are completed on time and deliver results that meet or exceed expectations.Raising Business Concerns & Strategy Recommendations:Identify critical business concerns through data analysis, escalating issues to senior leadership when necessary.Provide actionable recommendations based on data-driven insights to improve business performance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.Collaborate with department leaders to implement recommended changes, track their success, and provide feedback loops.Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with various departments, including Accounting, Technical Support, Operations, Central Station, and Field Operations, to gather and validate data for performance measurement.Ensure that department heads have visibility into their KPIs and understand their role in improving metrics.Act as the point of contact for all matters related to business metrics and reporting, providing guidance to team members and leadership.Evolving Role:As company needs evolve, adapt the role to meet emerging business requirements and provide leadership on new metrics, tools, and processes.Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices for business performance measurement and data-driven decision-making.Proactively identify new opportunities for leveraging data and technology to improve business insights and performance.QualificationsEducation: Associates degree in a business or technical study. Bachelor's degree preferred.Data Analysis & Interpretation: Strong ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to derive actionable business insights. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products and willingness to learn advanced data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) to support reporting and decision-making.Project Management: Proven skills in coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects with attention to timelines, deliverables, and outcomes. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Gantt Charts, Monday.com) is a plus, with room to develop advanced project tracking and planning techniques.Communication & Stakeholder Management: Effective communicator with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Process Improvement: Experience in identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending improvements. Will be mentored to enhance skills in designing data-driven processes and continuous improvement strategies.Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Hands-on experience in resolving technical issues, particularly in the context of access control systems. Ability to apply these skills to broader business operations and project environments.KPI Development & Tracking: Understanding of the importance of performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Will receive guidance on refining and implementing advanced KPI tracking methodologies aligned with business objectives.Time Management & Prioritization: Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage tasks in fast-paced environments. Ready to grow into more complex project and workload balancing responsibilities.Collaboration & Leadership: Demonstrated success in supporting and leading teams (no direct reports). Open to developing leadership capabilities further through mentorship, with a focus on driving project outcomes and team engagement.Experience: 2+ years of experience in project management, data analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role, preferably in a mid-to-large-scale organization.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Role:Accurate and timely delivery of performance reports and business insights.Successful definition and implementation of new KPIs aligned with strategic goals.Measurable improvements in business performance based on actionable insights and recommendations.Timely completion of cross-functional projects with clear outcomes.Proactive identification and escalation of business concerns or opportunities.
